Assalamuaikum Dr.Rose and my fellow classmates. How are you guys?
Here's something for you:
What is this?
A calculator? But where's the screen? Well it's actually a phone! But then again, where's the screen?
This phone is called John's Phone. It was designed by John Amsterdam from the Netherlands. It has 0 to 9 keypad, answer call and end call buttons, one-line screen, on and off buttons, and an address book, literally.
Here's the address book, a pen and a paper pad located at the back of the phone:
Where's the screen? Here it is:
10 numbers can be stored in speed dial. User can only make and receive call. No SMS, no calendar, no alarm. It's only for the purpose of calling. This phone is created especially for the elderly. They can carry this phone everywhere with them, and can call anybody from the speed dial if they are in emergency or if they need anything, without any complex phone interface and buttons.
That's all :) Have a good day!

ReplyDeleteYep, as far as I concerned you can pre-order from this online store GeekZen but I'm not sure if it is still open for pre-order :) but better give it a try!
Deletewow. this is so cool. it is specially designed for the elderly isn't it? do you know how much for this device?
ReplyDeleteYes, its also fine if you wanna give this to children in case of emergency (but I doubt that as children nowadays could be more advanced than us:p ) or if you wanna have it as yours, nothing's wrong about it :) It costs around RM350.. but I also found out that you can get it from RM250 as well :)
Deleteis this even sold in Malaysia?
ReplyDeleteit sure is practical to get away from the technology-laden world out there. simplicity at its best!
Yep, surprisingly. Supposedly you can pre-order from this online store called GeekZen but I've checked it just now and the pre-order is closed already. But maybe if you're really interested you can contact GeekZen at geekzen.com and ask them about this :) and yep, simplicity at its best!
